Polishing stone, that is, jade processing, is a very interesting hobby, which can create very beautiful stones. You can use the least equipment for manual grinding, or use a grindstone to quickly grind dozens of stones at one time. Put the polishing [diecasting-mould.com] stone in the house or send it to someone as a gift. Today, we are sharing you the step-by-step guide, how to polish stones.
Step 1
Choose the right stone. Although you can polish any stone you want, stones with certain characteristics will be easier to process. If you want a stone that is easy to grind, you can choose a soft one, such as agate, limestone or calcite. Hard stones take longer to polish. Although hard stones are more time-consuming, the finished products are also more shiny than soft stones. To judge whether one stone is soft, scrape it with another stone. If the scratch is white, the stone is soft. Also select approximately circular stones without obvious protrusions or depressions.

Step 2
Clean the stone. If the stone is dirty, wash it thoroughly with soap and water. Remove stubborn stains or residues with a brush. After cleaning, pat the stone dry.

Step 3
Shape the stone. If you want to make the stone more round, use a small hammer or chisel to chisel away the excess stone bit by bit. Wear goggles to protect your eyes from stone debris. You can also wear safety gloves if you like. Chisel away the protruding part of the stone. If you like the original shape of the stone, you don't have to change it. Stones can also be polished on the concrete slab to remove the protruding parts.

Step 4
Remove scratches with fine sandpaper. Grind the stone with 150 mesh sandpaper. You will find that the rough 50 mesh sandpaper has left many scratches on the stone; At this time, polish and remove the scratch with 150 mesh sandpaper.

Step 5
Grind the stone with rough sandpaper. 50 mesh sandpaper is the roughest and can be used to further shape stones. Use sandpaper to remove protrusions or projections from the stone. If you are satisfied with the overall shape of the stone, grind it evenly with 50 mesh sandpaper to make it smooth.

Step 6
Grind with 300 to 600 mesh sandpaper. Use 300 to 600 mesh sandpaper for overall grinding. Focus on grinding the scratches on the stone. This grade of sandpaper is very delicate and will not leave scratches. It can also smooth the scratches caused by other grades of sandpaper.

Step 7
Rub the stone with a piece of leather coated with polishing agent. After the stone is polished, it is polished with leather and polishing agent. If you don't have these two things at home, go to the hardware store. Put a small amount of polishing agent on the leather, and then rub the stone. This will make the stone look good and shiny. Do not buy colored polishing agents, otherwise the stones will be dirty.
