Apple has long since been renowned for placing emphasis on selling an experience instead of just selling a device. Their clever business strategies and technological brilliance have sealed their position as one of the dominant brands in the world, carving a profit share of approximately 83% by the year 2017 in the smartphone market.

So how does this model stand up to in terms of its functionality, ease of use and value for money?

Look, Design, Feel (/10)

Simply put, the iPhone 7 is gorgeous. Sure, it does somewhat still resemble like its predecessors, but given that one shouldn’t fix what is not broken, we’re definitely okay with that.

The original home button is now replaced by a sensitive pressure sensor, allowing us to effortlessly glide across its surface instead of mashing on fiddly bits caked with dirt and grime from all those times we’ve fumbled with it at the bars or at dinner.

Features (/10)

Besides the distinct lack of headphone jack, the iPhone 7 is the first of its series to be water resistant. This basically means that your phone could tolerate up to 30 mins being submerged in water of up to 1 meter in depth without giving up the ghost.

While we won’t recommend anyone trying this out to “test” this theory, it’s safe to say the phone will remain operable when caught in everyday situations such exposure to rain, water spillages as well as answering phone calls when your hands are wet.

Connectivity (/10)

Weak data connections is the bane of our existence. With the iPhone 7, this issue has not been improved upon besides the well-welcomed upgrades in features and designs.

Customers have reported drops in their LTE connectivity or the dreaded “No Service” notice on their phones. Since then, this has been identified as a software issue and Apple has offered various fixes in their recent iOS updates.

Performance (/10)

With the introduction of the new, and super powerful A10 Fusion processor, running apps that traditionally drag down the performance of your iPhones is now a breeze. Gaming and streaming experience is vastly improved compared to the previous models, proving that the iPhone is still at the peak of its game in terms of providing the best user experience for their fans.

Value for Money (/10)

Not surprisingly, the iPhone models come at a premium price compared to its competitors. The iPhone 7 is currently selling from between USD 649 to USD 849 depending on storage capacity - a price that many of its fanbase are more than willing to pay to win the privilege of owning what is arguably the prettiest and the fastest phone in the market.
