Toshiba’s KDDI W51T V.J. | , 12:11 p.m. July 30, 2008 2008-07-30

You may ask yourself why doesn’t Toshiba sell as much phones as any other manufacturer out there. It has everything, the necessary financial funding and a worldwide known name. Well, it may be that with names like KDDI W51T, people forget they wanted to buy this device and get another. As futuristic as it may sound, placing names like this is bad for sales. They could’ve simply dub it Toshiba K51 which is attractive and with sympathy.

In any case, the KDDI W51T (let’s name it KDDI to put it short) is a stylish clamshell which has a superb rotating display. This may ease the way you take images and probably makes other things more comfortably, like showing these pictures to others. Well, the image quality is not sky high but it is decent as the device comes with a 3 megapixel camera.

KDDI comes with a 2.6 inch diagonal display with QVGA resolution and 262K colors. It also has and external OLED monochrome display of 96 x 39 pixels and 0.8 inch diagonal size.

The device comes pretty heavy as it has about 142 grams and measures 51 x 103 and 21 mm. Battery life is decent as it comes with 2 hours talktime and 290 hours stand by. The developers thought it might be OK to release it in three colors.
