Symbian as a single mobile OS V.J. | , 11:40 a.m. June 24, 2008 2008-06-24

Today Nokia established the Symbian Foundation and has plans to morph Symbian into a single operating system.

This will come to the delight of developers as they have had to create various applications designed to work for a specific phone as Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola. With the new sole Symbian operating system their work will be much easier as they only have to create one variant which will satisfy all. Their applications will no longer be tailored for Nokia, Motorola etc, but instead one variant will fit them all.

Even more, as all handsets will run the same operating system, one application can be available instantly to millions of users. After all it may be that Symbian will lead the operating system party in the near future with this action.
