Samsung Unveils the i8510 V.J. | , 10:15 p.m. July 14, 2008 2008-07-14

Samsung impresses with its new releases. As we can see they are all equipped with a 5 megapixel camera. Introducing Omnia was a huge success and phones like that are simply rare. In matter of features or functionality, Omnia was far superior to the iPhone.

The new i8510 is said to be even more than Omnia. It will also incorporate a 5 megapixel camera, but the manufacturer will probably add something extra like pre-installed photo editing software. The camera has auto focus, Xenon flash with two LEDs and geo-tagging. What makes this phone is the fact that the camera can be used for video recording with QVGA resolution and go as fast as 120 frames per second.

Samsung i8510 runs Symbian OS S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1. It comes with USB 2.0 and Bluetooth support and WiFi. GPS will also be available. The handset has about 6 hours talktime and 260 hours stand by life.

The display is also extraordinary. On its 2.8 inch QVGA users will be able to watch MPEG4, 3GP, WMW and even DivX files. The i8510 comes with 16GB of internal memory.

Everything sounds interesting but you may have to wait a few months before the device will be available for purchase. The Samsung i8510 will be released at the end of this year and the price is unknown.
