The Russian Made RoverPC X7 V.J. | , 9:42 a.m. July 11, 2008 2008-07-11

The Russians have always been in pas with the latest technology so why not with mobile phones? A new Russian design is clearly something appreciable as it is equipped with the latest the mobile phone industry has to offer.

RoverPC is a Russian company specializing in building smartphones. The company already has a number of models released and users seem to be satisfied. The new model which will be released shortly is known as the RoverPC X7 and runs on Windows Mobile 6.1

It has a modest and futuristic design, nothing to Russian ‘style’ to be found here. Smooth round curves and a splendid design are empowered by the phone’s capabilities. It has a 3.2 inch touchscreen QVGA of 320 x 240 pixels and measures around 121 x 65.5 x 17 mm. Actually, this phone probably looks heavy but it isn’t, it weights only 132 grams.

So what makes this phone so cool? First it’s Russian made. To this we can add a 2 megapixel camera, not so great but its fine, a 624 MHz Marvell PXA310 processor, 128 mb RAM and 256 mb ROM. It also has GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and miniUSB. Well, an if you need more memory, you can have more thanks to a SDHC memory card expandable to 32 GB. Interesting, isn’t it?

The battery life is also interesting. It can compete with a lot of other manufacturers as it will last 4 hours in talktime and 150 hours in stand by. If you want to purchase it, well you may have to wait. The price is unknown for the time being.
