Russia gets Samsung D980 V.J. | , 3:17 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008 2008-10-14

Lately there has been little news from Samsung, but we know that they aren’t going for broke and continue to produce new mobile phones. As for new releases, they plan a few but first it seems that they try to hit markets in Russia.

Samsung has recently announced that they have released the first mobile phone that supports two SIM cards in the same time. The handset, Samsung D980, is clearly a high-end mobile phone that comes with some great features.

The handset comes with Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, TouchWiz user interface, USB 2.0, music and video player, FM radio, document reader and a microSD card support of up to 2GB.

Even more the handset is a tri-band GSM / GRPS / EDGE but it doesn’t have 3G connectivity support. However, the handset comes with a 2.6 inch, 256K colors, 240 x 320 pixels touchscreen and a gorgeous 5 megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and video.

The dual SIM allows users to have one phone instead of two, that’s something interesting. The phone costs about $750 if unlocked and with contract agreement users can buy it for prices starting $350.
