Dr. Young Koo Cha was named the new senior vice president of Qualcomm and president of the company’s Korean division. He replaced Dr. Sung Woo Kim who is retiring from Qualcomm in his position as senior vice president of Qualcomm and president of Qualcomm Korea.

"Korea holds a special place in Qualcomm history, and our appointment of Dr. Cha reflects the importance of Korea to the Company. Korea was one of the first countries to adopt Qualcomm's CDMA technology, and Qualcomm's strong relationships with our customers, suppliers and carriers, as well as the Korean government, have helped fuel the growth of the wireless industry throughout the world.
