Palm releases Treo Pro V.J. | , 9:35 p.m. Aug. 20, 2008 2008-08-20

Palm will launch a new Windows Mobile smartphone. Its design and features are especially well suited for business people. The new handset is said to have an easy an accessible menu with some fast working features.

The handset will be available in the UK starting September through Vodafone and O2. Palm Treo Pro is running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and it has one-touch access to WiFi. The manufacturer expects much from its new smartphone.

The Palm Treo Pro comes with a full QWERTY keyboard that will ease the use of the internet and imperious services like email. It has HSDPA capability, WiFi support and built-in GPS receiver.

Battery life is not bad as the Treo Pro supports five hours talk time and about 250 hours in standby. It comes with 256 MB internal memory, 100 MB is available to the user and also has a microSD slot.

The handset is said to come with Google Maps for quick navigation while on the go. Interesting enough is its price. An unlocked version costs about 399 pounds but it should be way cheaper with a contract agreement with Vodafone or O2.
