Omnia to be Available in Italy and Germany Starting August V.J. | , 6:49 p.m. July 15, 2008 2008-07-15

 

The latest touchscreen smartphone released by Samsung, the SGH-i900 Omnia will be available in Italy and Germany next month. Throughout Europe, Omnia will be available unlocked and it will also be available on the four main GSM carriers in Germany.

 

Omnia has repeatedly been named the ‘iPhone killer’. In all ways this is a splendid device with astonishing multimedia experience. It comes with a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and face and smile detection plus digital image stabilization. Omnia also has FM radio and GPS receiver.

 

Other features include a 3.2 inch WQVGA TFT LCD display 240 x 400. It can play different multimedia extensions like DivX, XviD, H.263, H.264, WMA, WMV, MP3, MP3 and other. The handset comes with preinstalled MS Office Document Viewer, Push Email and Advanced PIM Apps. It supports Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and WiFi. The device has 8GB internal memory plus an External Memory slot microSDHC. Omnia runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS.

 

Samsung Omnia will be ready to hit the Italian and German mobile phone markets in August. Prices have been announced; the 8GB version will cost around 650 euros.
