Nokia N79 Available, is it real? V.J. | , 4:05 p.m. Aug. 19, 2008 2008-08-19

The Chinese mobile phone market always manages to surprise and this time it did it again. N79 smartphone is already available for purchase even that Nokia did not confirm the existence of a N79 phone.

The Ghost N79 as we can call it, available on the Chinese market, has some similarities with the real N79 spotted in the beginning of June. But when it comes to features, we can safely say that this Ghost N79 is far from being a Nokia Nseries handset.

It comes with dual-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 MHz) with GPRS, a 2.4 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels and 260K colors. Additionally, it incorporates Bluetooth, MP3 and Video player, WAP browser and FM Radio. The Ghost N79 also has USB and 256 MB memory card as it has just 1 MB internal memory.

The handset also has a poor VGA camera which will give you just a migraine when you see the quality of the photos. Nothing comparable with the N-Series devices that have many megapixel caliber cameras and Carl Zeiss optics.

The device measures about 110 x 48 x 15 mm and is available for an interesting price. You can probably purchase it for about $100 (68 Euros). If you want the real N79 and not just a Ghost phone, you might want to wait a few more months until Nokia releases it.
