Nokia to close some of its flagship stores Sheetal Thakre | , 11:05 a.m. Dec. 11, 2009 2009-12-11

Be it a marketing strategy or merely due to a downfall in sales from the flagship stores, the telecom giant Nokia Corp has officially made it clear that it will close around two of its stores in US & one store in UK.

With a legacy of 12 flagship stores worldwide, the cities where this action will be followed include Chicago, New York, London & Sao Paulo.

Well the obvious reason behind this move was that it was concluded by the service provider that most of the population in North America buy the Nokia handsets from the carriers. As a result, it has remarkably decreased the overall net profit that was expected to collect with the launch of such kind of stores.

No doubts Nokia will still hold its market positions, but now it will be looking for further successful utilization of its trade channels to retain its customer base in the market with a concern that all other Nokia shops and retail outlets do not get affected.
