Nokia adds BBC iPlayer to N96 V.J. | , 2:37 p.m. Sept. 8, 2008 2008-09-08

The Nokia N96 will be available shortly in the UK and the BBC announced the iPlayer catch-up TV service will come preloaded with the N96.

N96 will ship the iPlayer application preloaded. It seems that not all N96 units come with the iPlayer, but if it didn’t, users can download it from the BBC website. Other devices that support the iPlayer are Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch.

The Nokia N96 comes with 16HB of internal flash memory, a MicroSD memory card slot that may expand the memory up to 24GB. That’s pretty much for a mobile phone. It also has 128RAM and 256 MB system memory.

The handset has about 4 hours talk-time and more that 230 hours in standby. Another example of Nokia battery efficiency. It comes with a 2.8 inch QVGA LCD TFT display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels resolution. It runs S60 3rd Edition Future Pack 2.
