Nimbuzz, the multi-purpose social media application has been launched for Google’s highly demanded Android mobile phone operating system. The launch comes with some new interesting features.

Nimbuzz introduces a series of new features for Android. It comes with a new buddy list layout, Skype IM, a time-sensitive user interface, home-screen notifications, auto-reconnect, clickable URLs and local social network support.

The time sensitive user interface detects how long the user presses on a contact in the buddy list. If the user chooses to click fast, it will open the contacts profile, a long click opens a live chat window.

In addition, Nimbuzz supports FaceBook, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger and ICQ among others.

“Mobiles are no longer just about hardware but software. Nimbuzz increases the value of the handset and enriches the user experience. Our Android version is a perfect example of what we do best, integrating Nimbuzz’s award winning service to bring the best out of each operating system and handset,” said Evert-Jaap Lugt, Nimbuzz CEO.
