Motorola Z6w Now Available in Canada V.J. | , 3:55 p.m. Aug. 7, 2008 2008-08-07

Fido has decided to release a new Motorola device just days after a previous release of a phone made by the same manufacturer. In any case, now the Canadian market has to deal with the introduction of the new Motorola Z6w.

Motorola is far away of being called a leading mobile phone manufacturer, but its brand is known around the world and people still consider buying their devices, thus business is not that bad. Motorola seems to have a great reputation in Canada as two devices have been released in a few days distance. The Motorola Z6w is really a good mobile phone with some features worth using.

The Z6w will be added to the list of UNO-compatible mobile phones offered by Fido. It has WiFi connectivity so users can enjoy fast web browsing. The device will also enhance web browsing experience as it comes with a preinstalled Opera Mobile browser. It also has email and Instant Messaging support.

The Motorola Z6w has quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GRPS and EDGE. It also comes with Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP. Photos will have a modest quality since it comes with a 2 megapixel camera with flash and video recording. Z6w come with a USB 2.0, 64 MB of expandable memory and many features the built-in menu has.

The device is pretty heavy as it weights about 110 grams and it measures 105 x 45 x 17 mm. The battery life is rather astonishing, 6.5 hours in talktime and 8 days in standby mode.

Prices are not that high when it comes to Motorola Z6w. Fido offers it free of contract or on prepay for about 350 Canadian dollars, but with a two year contract the Z6w is about $160, while for a three year contract you can get the device for about $60.
