Motorola is about to introduce the first Android-based mobile phone with iDEN connectivity support. The Motorola i1 is to become available at Boost Mobile on June 20. The handset will then become available nationwide via Best Buy stores.

Motorola i1 comes with a 3.1 inch 262k color TFT display capable of offering a 320 x 480 pixels resolution. The handset is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus, digital zoom, geo-tagging, white balance, panorama shot feature and various effects.

The phone is based on Android 1.5 and is powered by a Freescale Zeus 2.0 ARM1136 500MHz processor. In addition, the phone sports 256mb RAM and 512mb ROM. The Motorola i1 comes with 256mb of internal memory but has microSD/microSDHC memory card support.

Its standard Li-Ion, 1400 mAh battery offers 3.5 hours of talk time and 100 hours of stand-by time – relatively modest battery life. The Motorola i1 measures 118 x 58 x 12.8 mm and weights no more than 131g.

The Motorola i1 will be available at Boost Mobile for free after signing a $50 monthly unlimited plan.
