Motorola’s sales are pretty down at the moment. The times when the company was favored by the American users have long gone. Yet the company is determined to get back at the pole position in the US mobile phone market.
The company has hired a new chief marketing officer for its mobile phone division, writes Chicago Tribune. The new officer is William Ogle who was the chief marketing officer at Samsung Telecommunications America.
The near future is crucial for Motorola’s mobile device unit. The unit is planning to launch several Android-powered phones in the second half of the year and the coming holiday season.
"This is a pivotal time for Motorola's mobile devices business, and I look forward to working with Bill as we prepare to launch an enhanced portfolio of exciting new products in the later half of 2009 and beyond," Motorola co-Chief Executive Sanjay Jha said in a statement.
William Ogle will start working for Motorola at the end of this month.
