Motorola CHARM unveiled with a bang Saveri Dhekney | , 10:12 a.m. July 8, 2010 2010-07-08

Motorola today announced its upcoming T-Mobile exclusive phone, the Motorola CHARM, a smartphone that runs on Android 2.1 (Eclair) and packs in social networking features, trademark MOTOBLUR UI, compact design and a  BACKTRACK feature; similar to that introduced in MOTOROLA BACKFLIP.

To make it user-friendly for social butterflies, Motorola has included an additional 4-line QWERTY keyboard with the intuitive navigation of a 2.8 inch touch screen. It means, the phone offers the users the opportunity for three-way navigation using a touch screen, QWERTY keypad and BACKTRACK pad.

The innovative BACKTRACK navigation panel located at the rear of the handset assists in unobstrcuted view of websites, emails and RSS feeds and functions, similar to that of a touch-sensitive laptop navigation pad.

Motorola CHARM will be the first phone in US to introduce the MOTOBLUR UI built on Android 2.1 with advanced customization and filtering options. Now it will be more easy for users to sync contacts, posts, messages, photos and manage streams from social networking sites and email accounts.

Additional features of the Motorola CHARM include a Wi-Fi connection, Moto Phone Portal to access data on the phone through any browser over Wi-Fi connection, Adobe Flash, Google applications, pinch-to-zoom & two-swipe finger functionality for browsing web pages, 3-megapixel camera with KODAK PERFECT TOUCH technology, access to social networking sites, CrystalTalkTM PLUS technology to fiter background noise and Push email.

Motorola is offering the CHARM to its USA customers on T-Mobile this summer.
