Killed by the mobile phone V.J. | , 1:06 a.m. Feb. 3, 2009 2009-02-03

There are a number of confirmed deaths reported caused by mobile phones. Well, not exactly the phones but caused by their batteries. Repeatedly, cellphone manufacturers urged users to use their branded batteries and not try to purchase cheaper ones.

In July 2007 a Motorola branded phone’s fake battery exploded killing a man. However this is not a single case. Recently a 20 years old Chinese man was killed after a mobile phone battery exploded cutting a main blood artery in his neck.

Reports say that he brought a new battery and charged it just before the incident. It was not reported the phone’s brand name or if the battery was real or fake. However, mobile phone companies urged users to avoid replacing their batteries with fake, cheap ones.
