Changes are taking place in Ericsson leadership positions. Jan Frykhammer was appointed chief financial officer to replace Hans Vestberg. Vestberg is now taking over the company’s chief executive officer position.
“Jan Frykhammar has documented experience of the telecom industry as well as excellent managerial skills,” Vestberg said in the statement. “He has also held various positions in Ericsson and has a deep knowledge about our business.”
Frykhammer is an Ericsson employee since 1991 and was appointed head of Global Services in early 2009. The company is now fighting sale problems of telecommunications equipment with TeliaSonera or China’s Huawei Technologies which sell the equipment at lower prices.
According to an Ericsson statement, Vestberg will succeed Carl-Henric Svanberg as CEO on January 1st 2010.
Frynkhammer will remain the head of the Global Services until a successor is found.
