HTC to launch the S740 V.J. | , 5:45 p.m. Sept. 9, 2008 2008-09-09

HTC is going to release a new mobile phone designed to incorporate both the 12 key and the QWERTY. The company brings innovation, yet again.

Following their tremendous success with the Diamond, HTC wants to keep their position as one of the world’s most important cellphone manufacturer with the release of the S740. The handset comes with an elegant dark design and everything HTC has to offer.

The combination between 12 key and QWERTY may be of high interest to business people who really need to be able to send messages and emails fast. This means that the handset supports POP3, IMAP and Exchange push mail.

To this the manufacturer added a great broadband connection that brigs about 7.2 Mbps download speed, being 18 times faster than 3G. Thus the unit comes with Google Maps, a superb Internet browser that allows users to quickly update their blogs or podcasts.

HTC S740 comes with a 2.4 inch QVGA display and a good 3.2 megapixel camera. The handset weights about 140 grams and measures 116 x 43 x 16 mm.

HTC S740 will be available in Europe in the next weeks for about 415 Euros.
