The first mobile handset with 4G connectivity support has been released in the wild. This new phone is, as you might expect, a high-end device proudly manufactured by the Taiwan-based HTC Corporation.
The EVO 4G was announced in March 23 but HTC decided to prepare the public for the upcoming release. The company has now decided that the time is right for the introduction of the first 4G capable handset.
EVO 4G comes with a 4.3 inch TFT, 65k colors touchscreen capacitive display that boasts a 480x 800 pixels resolution. It comes with an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, auto focus and digital zoom capable of HD (720p) video recording sessions.
The new Android-based 4G handset is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor efficiently run by 512MB RAM and 1024 MB ROM. The phone comes with a 3.5 mm headphones connector, microUSB, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity support.The phone comes with a microSD slot with 8GB included but upgradeable to 32GB for plenty of storage space.
The EVO 4G is available at Sprint for $199.99 with a two year contract and a $100 mail-in rebate and $150 instant savings. The next generation handset is here, go grab it on Sprint’s website.
