In the next two months, Japanese mobile phone manufacturer will release a new handset that is said to be solar-powered and waterproof. The handset will most likely be exclusive to the Japanese market.

According to reports, the solar hybrid mobile will be launched in September throught Domoco’s sales channels across Japan. The handset is the SH-08A and enters the Style series. In any case, the Style might prove itself to be a rather dependable eco-friendly mobile phone.

The mobile phone can be recharge using sunlight and/or electricity. Docomo says that just 10 minutes of solar recharging via a panel and the phone’s body provides about one minute of talk time.

The Style series phone is to come with an 8 megapixel CCD camera that “takes excellent photographs even dim lighting or when objects are moving” in Docomo’s own words. Additionally, the handset is resistant to water sprays from all directions and can resist in depths up to one meter.

The mobile phone maker has announced that the Style SH-08A will be exhibited at its booth at Wireless Japan 2009 which will take place at Tokyo Big Sight from July 22 to 24.
