DeviceAnywhere hooks up with LG V.J. | , 2:12 p.m. July 14, 2009 2009-07-14

DeviceAnywhere, the global leader in end-to-end mobile application testing and development solutions today announced the launch of the LG Virtual Developer Lab (VDL) in partnership with LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, a leading global mobile communication and information provider.

Available to members of the LG Mobile Developer Network, the LG VDL provides remote access to over 140 physical devices in Europe, the U.S. and Canada, allowing the developer community to bring original content and applications to market faster and more efficiently than ever before. Built on DeviceAnywhere's unique and patented Direct-to-Device technology, developers will be able to remotely interact with a mobile handset as if it were in their hands from the comfort of their desktops anywhere in the world.

Launched in October 2008, the LG Developer Community was created to provide the mobile developer community with access to the tools and resources to create and launch new and innovative services on the LG platform. Complementing existing community tools, such as support forums, DeviceAnywhere allows developers to collaborate on projects, regardless of where they are individually situated.

The LG Virtual Developer Lab is part of LG's ongoing commitment to supporting the mobile content and application development community. Built on Java and Flash Lite, the current de facto mobile standard for content and applications, the LG VDL will allow developers of all sizes, ranging from independents to large content companies, to promptly test across a range of LG handsets to ensure the optimal end-user experience.

"LG represents one of the fastest growing brands in mobile, with flagship devices such as the LG Cookie and LG Shine creating the ultimate end user-centric experience. Complementing these devices is the content and applications that our developer community creates. As a result, we are dedicated to ensuring they have access to the best tools and services available," said Jae un Kim, Chief Engineer of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "We are excited about the launch of the LG Virtual Developer Lab and seeing how the LG community uses it to create innovative new services and content for our customers."

"Content and services has become a fundamental tool in the personalisation of the mobile handset and as a result a key element in the purchasing decision. Mobile content developers must employ the most advanced development solutions available to ensure the creation of the high-quality content that today's market demands," said Faraz Syed, CEO and co-founder of DeviceAnywhere. "For this reason, DeviceAnywhere has become the ‘go-to' solution for mobile handset manufacturers and service providers worldwide – and LG has taken notice and recognised the value in extending the services available to its developer community worldwide."
