Finally, Dell got its act together and released the Venue Pro, a smartphone based on the latest Windows 7 platform. Better late than never, should we say, since the company has been oscillating the release dates with the last being thought as 8th November, 2010.
However, that's stale news since Dell now has officially released the phone in the US on T-Mobile for $99.99 with a signature 2-year contract. The phone can also be had for $449.99 without a contract.
The Dell Venue Pro is one from the current crop of Windows 7 smartphones featuring an innovative tiled interface, a powerful 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, multiple connectivity options, 5MP camera, HD video recording, slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a in-built memory option of either 8GB or 16GB. Yes, its sad but true that the Dell Venue Pro fails to provide an expandable card slot and users will have to content themselves with the available memory. Otherwise, the smartphone features a toughened Gorilla glass protecting the 4.1" AMOLED touchscreen.
