Acer announces Tempo Smartphone handset - Acer M900 V.J. | , 11:23 p.m. July 26, 2009 2009-07-26

It is unusual to see top laptop manufacturers suddenly turn to the mobile phone industry trying to make a breakthrough. Acer did not quite achieve this; however, they have released a very interesting handset, the Acer M900.

Acer has announced their new Tempo Smartphone range of Windows Mobile powered handset in January this year. This phone comes with some interesting features and as you can see from the image here, it also has a cool design.

The M900 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and is powered by a Samsung 533 Mhz 6410 CPU. Additionally, the Acer handset comes with a 3.8 inch WVGA display capable of offering 800 x 480 resolution.

The handset comes with a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, WiFi, BT, GPS, support for various audio formats as well as video formats such as 3GP, MPEG4 and WMV.

Overall, this Acer M900 handset is pretty interesting. The company did not manage to release a spectacular phone, they did, however, release a good phone. We should keep an eye on Acer’s mobile division. Stay tuned!
