Hi all,

I've been doing more building lately, having discovered it's pretty fun.
I like watching tutorial videos, and for the most part that's answered
my questions. I have 2 issues I intermittently see, but haven't found
anyone discussing them. Unsure if they're bugs or "features" that I
don't know how to work around.

1. In constructing (in a group edit mode, with walls, etc.) most of the
time I have height snapping set to 1m, which works just about perfectly
for me. Makes it easy to shift up/down as I build however needed.
Sometimes, however, that function stops working and it does a smooth
height shift. Which is great for decorations and such, but absolutely
horrible for building components, and I loathe it when this
happens--because I can never figure out how to fix it, and as far as I
can tell, once a particular Group starts height shifting without the
snapping, it never picks back up the proper height snapping
functionality again. Which means I can kiss straight lines and level
floors goodbye. I've messed around with a lot of settings, but I've also
never played Planet Coaster and am not the most experienced with the
control systems and hotkeys. Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

2. I recently figured out how to stack staff buildings to take up less
space, thanks to a helpful video tutorial. Yay! I've successfully done a
handful of them now. However, I just started a new park in Challenge
mode, and this time, when I tried it, it let me stack the buildings just
fine but would absolutely not allow me to put paths in place where the
paths were directly over, but 4m above, another path. I eventually just
gave up and made it into a stupid looking 3 story building with a
huuuuuge airspace between the 1st and "2nd" floors. It looks absolutely
stupid and massive, and I was(still am) pretty irate over it. Never had
this happen before. Did I do something wrong, or did the gods of Planet
Zoo decide I was having too much fun, and that had to be stopped?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

My neighbors are also currently undergoing repairs. My tenants want a discount because it's noisy. Do you think I should get a discount?

Well, your tenants are partly right. They are bothered by strangers, and this is not cool. It may even be that some of them work from home, and this noise disturbs them. In any case, they pay the rent and have the right to demand privacy. So I think that 1O % discount is very fair.
We recently collaborated with a construction company from which we rented scaffolding. They are so professional that while they were working, not a sound was heard. In this way, they did not interfere with anyone. Maybe you should hire another less visible company next time.
